LESSON OVERVIEW
The main objectives of this lesson are to:
- read an article and understand different types of podcasts;
- revise and practise vocabulary found in the article.
This lesson allows students to look into and talk about different kinds of podcasts and what makes them interesting. They also revise the vocabulary found in the article (e.g. cover topics, keep track of, quality content, etc.) and share their personal experience related to podcasts.

ACTIVITIES
This lesson starts with a short warm-up in which students discuss the advantages podcasts have over other types of media (books and newspapers, radio, films and TV shows). After that, students explore different types of podcasts and name reasons why people listen to them. Then, they practise the vocabulary found in the article by reading comments about podcasts and choosing the best meaning for each phrase (e.g. feel down, figure out, dig deeper, etc.). After working with vocabulary, students look at three boxes with conversation points (your favourite podcast, your favourite type of podcast, reasons you don’t listen to podcasts). They choose one and talk about it for at least a minute. Then, they answer questions and have a deeper discussion on podcasts. The lesson ends with an activity in which students choose one thing they would most probably do in different situations (e.g. you are cleaning the house, you can’t fall asleep, you want to listen to a quality podcast, etc.) and explain their answers.
