Description

Lesson overview

The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

  • – Master “must vs. have to” through reading articles about Svalbard and grammar exercises in this upper intermediate ESL lesson plan.
  • – Build vocabulary and comprehension skills by watching videos about polar bears and Arctic life, completing sentence exercises for adult English lessons.
  • – Develop speaking and discussion abilities through role play activities, wrap-up questions, and conversation class lesson plans designed for these English teaching materials.

In this Upper-Intermediate lesson plan, students will learn about must vs. have to.  They will watch a video and read an article about living in Svalbard. They will work on exercises to promote the correct understanding and use of grammar. They will also be introduced to new vocabulary and role play to encourage speaking.

The lesson starts with questions to see if the students know about Svalbard.
