LESSON OVERVIEW

We’ve prepared a three-task vocabulary worksheet to focus on money phrases and idioms. Actually, a common denominator here is names for American money.

MONEY PHRASES AND IDIOMS

First, your students will learn what a penny, a nickel, a dime, a quarter and a buck are. They just need to match these terms for money to their value. Next, they have to complete phrases and idioms with the correct words from the box. This way, students will discover such phrases as put in your two cents, make a quick buck, worth every penny, big bucks, etc.

DISCUSSION

As usual, the worksheet ends up with eight discussion questions so that your students can use newly acquired phrases and idioms.
