Description

LESSON OVERVIEW

In this lesson students talk about different types of workers described in the article, discuss some questions about motivations, and learn vocabulary to explain what motivates them at work.

This is a Critical Reading Club worksheet. With this format, students need to read an online article at home and do the exercises in the classroom. Learn more about how to use such worksheets and their benefits in our post.

ACTIVITIES

In the warm-up activity, students think about the jobs they have had and what made them good or bad. Then, they do a vocabulary task in which they need to complete gaps with words in the box (e.g. priority, fulfilled, value, rely). They also decide which statements from the previous task best describe their professional motivations. After that, students talk about the six types of worker described in the article using some tips and what they remember from the article. Finally, they discuss which types of worker are suitable for different professions, and whether the idea of ‘a good job’ has changed in recent years.
