Description

LESSON OVERVIEW

In this lesson, students discuss the idea that video games should be considered an art form. They also learn and practise some useful vocabulary

This is a Critical Reading Club worksheet. With this format, students need to read an online article at home and do the exercises in the classroom. Learn more about how to use such worksheets and their benefits in our post.

ACTIVITIES

First, students look at an unfinished quote about video games from the article and finish it with their own ideas. After that, they do a vocabulary exercise. Students read the sentences and choose the incorrect word in each of them. After that, they look at the sentences again and say whether they are about art, a video game or both. Then, students participate in a discussion related to the article. They talk about the main idea of the article, discuss game development and the purpose of both art and video games. To wrap up the lesson, students do a Would you rather..? activity and practise the words from the lesson (e.g. feature, convey, incredible, attempt, profound).
