LESSON OVERVIEW
In this lesson students learn and put into practice dependent prepositions (in phrasal verbs and other expressions) while discussing reasons and ways of dealing with the common problem of procrastination.
This is a Critical Reading Club worksheet. With this format, students need to read an online article at home and do the exercises in the classroom. Learn more about how to use such worksheets and their benefits in our post.
ACTIVITIES
The first activity in this lesson allows students to test their knowledge of dependent prepositions. They read eight gapped sentences and complete each of them with the correct preposition (e.g. ruminate on, dial down, pile up). Next, they engage in a discussion about time management and procrastination and relate the problem to their own experience. The final activity is all about practising the phrasal verbs and other given words and phrases from the article students read before the lesson. Their task is to use them to give advice to someone who wants to procrastinate less.
