In this lesson, students discuss the idea of a global skills passport presented in the article, and practise vocabulary related to the topic.

ACTIVITIES
First students list some ways for employers to ensure that they hire the best candidates. Then, students read a short description of a digital badge and think of two benefits and two drawbacks of the idea. After that, they complete gaps with verbs in the box (e.g. accredit, benchmark, validate) in the correct form. They also discuss whether the statements from the task are true for today’s job market and if a global skills passport would change that. Finally, they brainstorm the challenges that a global skills passport might face, and compare that idea with what LinkedIn provides.
