The main goals of this ESL lesson plan are to:

In this Intermediate ESL lesson plan, the goal is to broaden students’ vocabulary on the theme of the behavior of pets. The lesson also introduces and practices the passive verb forms.

Warm-upThe lesson starts with an exercise where students organize words to create sentences. 

VideoStudents will watch a video named “Inside the Animal Mind.” Post-viewing, they will fill gaps in sentences to check for comprehension.

GrammarFocus here is introducing the passive verb forms. Examples are given to aid understanding.

ExercisesIn this part of the lesson, students will transform active sentences into passive ones. They will also complete words with the missing letters to create dog-related phrases. 

ReadingStudents will read a short text about dogs, followed by a Q&A session.

DiscussionTo wrap up, students will discuss a quote.
