LESSON DESCRIPTION

In this Business English lesson plan for adults, students watch and listen to an informative video about tips for networking at professional events. It includes discussion questions, and conversation and vocabulary activities about networking and career success. Students then do some listening/viewing comprehension activities based on the video. The viewing follow-up includes some additional discussion, an activity on some of the phrases/phrasal verbs used in the video, and discussion using these phrases/phrasal verbs. There are additional tasks for students to practice networking skills. There is a quiz & review as well as a lesson reflection included.

Networking isn’t just about meeting new people. Knowing how to network can strengthen your business connections and might even lead to a job referral. In fact, some argue getting a job is more about who you know than what you know. In other words, those referrals can really pay off. In this video, we’ll show you how to navigate a networking event like a pro with some key tips!
