LESSON DESCRIPTION

In this ESL lesson plan for adults and teens, students watch a video and do a listening exercise about the history of the first moon landing in 1969. It includes discussion questions, conversation, and other activities about the moon and the landing. Students also learn some important vocabulary terms, expressions, and phrases from the video. The grammar exercise features the usage of the conjunction “unless”. There is also a quiz & review section which includes a bonus activity.

July 20th, 2019 marked 50 years since the greatest technological achievement in human history. At 4:17 in the afternoon EST, astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed and stepped foot on the moon. Up until today, NASA’s Apollo 11 mission continues to inspire America’s next steps into space. In this video, you’ll also hear about NASA’s future plans for the moon.
